Skrillex - Cinema 1st cut

This is the 1st cut of our music video. We are proud that our first attempt at making a music video turned out this way.We would like to make further improvements to the video such as: improve the syncing, improve the speed of some jump cuts to fit the beats, work more on the colour of the footage, add the "Skrillex - Cinema" titles at the beginning and create a logo of the TV channel the video could be seen on, which is currently considered to be MTV Base.

1st cut - Final Touches

Yesterday was our final editing day and we only had to enforce the final touches when it comes to lighting and effects. We did so using the colour corrector in order to adjust the colours by increasing saturation and black and white balance to make the video look more professional.

Last filming session

This weekend we have been filming our last piece of footage in Reading. The filming went well as we have found a nice park to film in. We have briefly storyboarded new shots to add, and have successfully captured them during the session. The actors got on really well and enjoyed filming together.

At this stage we are now putting everything in place, the dubstep proves to be the most difficult part of editing due to the amount of quick cuts and effects needed to create the desired look. However, I do believe we will finish our 1st cut on the friday deadline and then work on the video onwards in order to improve it.

Editing in Lesson time

Meanwhile we have been editing our music video and took special care with the dubstep parts of the song as it is extremely fast and requires a series of fast jump cuts.

We have also included still images/pictures in between the jump cuts to increase the fast effect of disorientation, also to create variety of the media used in our music video.

Furthermore we have experimented with some effects and have found a perfect one to use: Stop Motion Blur creates an excellent disorientation effect by doubling the motions in the footage.

We have also found out that the footage needs to be regularly rendered in order to be played properly. We have been using Colour Corrector 3Way to increase the quality of our footage in order to make it look more professional.

Research and Planning - Call list

This is a call list that my partner and I originally put together and then changed it depending on the availability of our actors. We are hoping to do the final shoot this weekend in order to collect all the material we need.

Research and Planning

During the course of our filming process, our two girl actors have proved to be unreliable and were unable to attend the shooting sessions and as a result we have decided to use new actresses.
